GearTree’s roots are in our brick-and-mortar store, Firehouse Guitars. In 1997, founder Tim Adrianson started selling music gear out of a tiny shop in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The original store quickly grew and became a chain of full-line musical instrument and pro sound stores offering all of the industry’s top brands and products. In 2004, we launched GearTree with the mission of providing easy access to these same high-quality products at unbeatable prices nationwide. For the longest time, our warehouse and brick-and-mortar locations were close in proximity but separate from one another. In November 2022, with the celebration of 25 years in business, that all changed with the launch of our new flagship location in one of the largest commerce areas within greater Grand Rapids. Now, we offer the intimate brick-and-mortar music experience you love, one of the largest guitar walls in the United States, and the inventory backing of an omnichannel retailer just a few steps away.

Our Services
At Firehouse Guitars, music education has been at the heart of what we do since day one. We offer private music lessons for a wide range of instruments, including guitar, drums, bass guitar, piano, ukulele, songwriting, and audio recording. Whether you're a beginner or looking to sharpen your skills, our experienced instructors are excited to help you grow as a musician! All private lessons are affordably priced at $25 for a 30-minute session or $50 for a full hour. Visit Firehouse Guitars’ website to view available lesson times and enroll today.
We also have multiple professional guitar technicians on-site! Whether you need a basic setup, a pickup swap, fret work, or a full-blown structural repair, we have you covered. In addition to customer repairs, we are an Authorized Service Center for Fender Guitars and can handle all Fender warranty repairs. Lastly, we are one of the only places in Michigan to offer amp and speaker repair. If you break something, we can fix it!
